Remote Access runs a security scan every time you try to connect. These checks ensure CPS applications and data remain secure. If you are using a Board-owned laptop, antivirus software should already be installed. If you are using a personal computer we recommend all users install one of the supported antivirus applications to protect the Board from malicious attacks. Some of these applications are available at no cost from the publisher's website.
The Remote Access Solution supports only the following antivirus software at this time:
Windows OS Anti-virus Software
Computer Associates VET/Computer Associates eTrust
Forefront Client Security
Panda Antivirus 2009
Symantec Norton Antivirus
Trend Micro PC-cillin/OfficeScan

Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. It is a portmanteau of the words "malicious" and "software." The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of hostile, intrusive or annoying software or program code. Software is considered malware based on the perceived intent of the creator rather than any particular features. It includes computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious and unwanted software.
Below is a list of software that will review and help remove malware from your personally- owned computer:
